Three new series for modern STS container cranes and high-capacity process cranes have been developed / optimized conception of the running gear / speeds of up to 300 m/minute are possible.

Weil am Rhein, July 2007. The Wampfler AG has developed three new series of cables trolleys for modern STS container cranes and high-capacity process cranes. All three programs for flat and round cables have been designed for a loop weight of 350 to 800 kilogram and feature an optimized conception of the running gear. This new technology allows speeds of up to 300 m/minute.

„The future has already started, since today the usual main trolley speed of modern container cranes does not exceed 250 m/minute “, as stated by Dietmar Haag, product manager for festoon systems at Wampfler.

Wide field of application

Besides a series for high-capacity process cranes we can present two new cable trolley types for container cranes with rope-driven main trolley, as well as container cranes with machinery on trolley for crane types of Panamax, Megamax and Malaccamax class.

The optimized conception of the running gear with point-symmetric arrangement of the main roller considerably improves the traveling behavior of the cable trolleys. The running gear has been designed for high travel speeds and for crossing beam joints on STS container cranes. All materials can withstand extreme ambient conditions – e.g. in subtropical regions. Due to the consequent optimization of their technology these new cable trolleys will save repair and maintenance costs. The „Total-Cost of Ownership“ will be clearly reduced.

Worldwide leader in cable trolley technology

The cable trolley technique is one of the core competencies of the Wampfler company, who is worldwide leading in this field. Wampfler cable trolley systems are installed all over the world among others in steelworks, ports, galvanizing plants and composting plants. More than 400 STS container cranes and more than 3,000 stacker cranes have been equipped with Wampfler cable trolley systems during the recent years.
