MCS Slip Rings are a premium level product for the transmission of low power and data.

This Slip Rings are based on gold on gold sliding contacts, that ensure long life without any maintenance due to the particular materials and lubricant used.

The enclosure, shaft, flange and all the metallic parts are made in stainless steel (also available in AISI 316L). The sealing systems adopted on both rotor and stator make it possible to reach a IP67 protection grade.

All these characteristics make it perfect to be used in applications where robustness, high reliability and hard working cycles of 24 hours/day are requested.

FAQ

Can power and data be mixed on this Slip Ring?

Yes, power, signals and data up to 1 Gbps can be mixed in the MCS series.

Can fluids be transmitted with this Slip Ring?

Yes, MCS series can be used to transmit any kind of fluid, such as water, gas, or oil, with one or more passages, based on a customized design. Air joints with 1 or 2 passages size 3/8" are widely used and can be considered as the preferred option, being design- and cost-optimized.

Why is MCS designed IP67 and stainless steel?

The high IP protection and stainless steel material make this slip ring suitable to be applied in highly aggressive environments. An example would be a specific kind of filling machine, working in an aseptic environment, where sanitization processes are mandatory. Vapour steams together with acid vapours can come in contact with the slip rings without damage.

Why is gold wires technology used for power transmission?

When the ampacity is limited to a few amps (12 A max) it can be convenient to have the same solution used for high data rate transfer, hence gold wires. This allows for compact dimensions and eliminates the need for cleaning carbon-based dust, which could be a critical factor in Food & Beverage environments.
