The Deutsche Theatertechnische Gesellschaft has been organizing stage technology conferences for 117 years. The first edition took place in Wiesbaden in 1907. Over the course of two world wars and the division of Germany, the BTT became a permanent fixture for professional exchange and further training in the theater industry. Since the DTHG was founded, the conference has been held every two years at different locations in Germany.
