Antennas

The use of radio communication in industrial environments is marked by different factors that affect the propagation of radio waves and influence their attenuation. In order to achieve a reliable radio link, we offer a broad range of antennas for radio remote controls, to adapt to each environment.

Harnesses

Harnesses and other carrying accessories are key for the operator to feel comfortable while controlling equipment with radio remote controls in potentially dangerous environments. Such comfort guarantees that the operator always has the radio remote control close. The weight of the radio remote control is also more evenly distributed, which leads to the ability of handling it easier and for longer periods of time without fatigue.

FAQ

How to maintain UD radio remote controls?

Servicing the UDE transmitter
  • Regularly verify the good state of the transmitter, paying special attention to the function button membranes, to the electronic key connector and to the battery connector.
  • Clean the transmitter by eliminating any foreign body. Use only non-aggressive cleansers based on soapy solution.
Servicing the receiver URR/UCR/UDR
  • Check the following points:
    • The electrical connection of the receiver to the equipment to be controlled.
    • Contacts of function relays.
    • Correct operation of stop circuits, active and passive.
    • Condition of cover seal, tightening of screws and cable glands and tightness of antenna (check that it is clean and if BNC connector is present, check that it is not oxidized).
  • Clean the receiver by eliminating any foreign body. Use only non-aggressive cleansers based on soapy solution.
  • To check operation of the active stop function (UD system started up): simply press the stop palm switch button on the transmitter. The safety relays of the receiver must then be deactivated immediately.
  • To check operation of the passive stop function (UD system started up): simply remove the electronic key or remove the battery from the transmitter or wait until "Standby mode" function is activated (automatic shutdown of the transmitter), the safety relays of the receiver must then be deactivated within 2 seconds.

More information to be found in the instruction manuals.

How long does the UD radio remote controls warranty run?

All our products are guaranteed two years as of date of product manufacture (indicated on product), excluding wear parts. For the battery, the warranty period is limited to 1 year. Repair, modification or replacement of a device during the warranty period may not have the effect of extending the warranty period.

How can we obtain the software and the programming tools?

Our software and programming tools can be downloaded on our website for free.

How many buttons and relays are available on UD radio remote controls?

  • UD transmitters provide from 6 to 10 buttons and/or selectors switches.
  • UD receivers provide from 6 to 18 relays, for command +2 safety relays.

Is tandem operation mode available on UD radio remote controls?

No, it is not. Please refer to our radio remote controls portfolio.

How does one integrate the receiver into an electric cabinet?

The receiver can either be wall-mounted or fixed into the electrical cabinet. Pay attention to installing the antenna outside the cabinet for proper signal propagation.

Are stickers supplied with UD radio remote controls?

Yes, several standard stickers are supplied as well as blank stickers for customizing.

What is the maximal range?

The range will vary according to the environment conditions, the position of the reception antenna and the orientation of the transmitter (the range will be lower in the event of metal obstacles such as: frameworks, partitions, enclosures, etc.). The average range is 300 m in unobstructed area, 100 m in typical industrial environments.

How long do the batteries last?

It depends on the usage. Endurance emission time/buttons typical average use (at +25 °C): 24 hours / 50% emission time
